It is such a joy when former wedding clients ask us to capture their sweet new baby and the next phase in their family journey. Congrats Lisa and Bryce!
We are excited to announce that Baby Two is coming mid November! We are looking forward to growing our family and snuggling our sweet #2 soon. #BabyDerkin (George) isn’t quite sure what to make of this announcement but is committed to rocking the role of Big Brother and @derksworksdog is still in shock and potentially denial!
It truly is hard to believe George is now 10 months! Time is moving so quickly and we are grateful for each moment. George is an adventurer, courageous, curious, observant, funny, determined and so much more. He sleeps soundly, loves food with flavor, is mesmerized by Baby Einstein, adores his pups and strongly dislikes diaper changes, changing clothes and initially being strapped into the carseat. From smiling through his first split lip, to fake laughing at Benjamin’s dad jokes and giving slobbery, loving kisses to mommy, getting to know and see his personality and heart gives us such great joy!
In celebration of his 10 months and because we need to take pictures of our child with something other than our phones, Benjamin and I shot a few images to capture this special stage and time! Enjoy!
Beautiful baby & family shoot with sweet new baby Ruby, captured by our awesome associate photographer Rachel.
Designing and creating a room is fun, building an environment is even more fun and challenging! When creating George’s room we thought about how we wanted the room to feel, what we wanted George to grow up looking at, thinking about and how we could make the most of each investment and piece for future babies and family. the result was better than we could have imaged! Here it is; a peaceful and loving space, calm, fun, useful and filled with personal & intentional expressions of love, art and family! In the few short weeks we have been home, Benjamin, George and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time in his room, even those late night feedings and especially the cuddles & snuggles; we hope you enjoy the space as well.
As we prayed for George in the womb and to this day, we pray that he would grow to be both courageous and kind. Benjamin and I made this piece that hangs above his crib. It was a collaboration, I watercolored the background and Benjamin lettered the words. An expression of love and prayer from mom & dad.
The above piece is the catalyst and culmination of art, family and love for the room. Each image represents an individual memory and aspect of George’s parents, grandparents and great grandparents. My mom drew and painted each image with love and as it hangs above his crib now and in his future rooms, we are and will continue to tell George stories and memories of his heritage of love.

Investing in a comfortable and beautiful rocker is something I am very glad we did! I have already spent countless hours in this chair and will spend many, many more! This is the West Elm Graham Glider in a custom heathered wool blend.
George has spent his first several weeks sleeping in his Restoration Hardware moses basket. Snuggled with RH Lamby.
