First off, Let me inform compel, anyone in the market to be buying a wedding dress, to take a moment right now and open up that link for The White Dress Co‘s website. The dresses are beautiful, the environment is stunning and Jackie, the owner, is dead set on finding you the perfect gown! Secondly, I’d like to express my gratitude for being asked to photograph their grand opening! Not only was it a beautiful event full of love and kindness but it also gave me the chance to make a few new friends, and I can’t wait to see some of the artistic work that we will be able to create together!
This is Jackie, she is awesome. Her store is awesome too. You should check it out.
Congratulations Adam & Christine!!! It was our pleasure to be able to organize your PHOTOBOOTH, we love you and your crazy friends :)
Please feel free to check out even more of their amazing PHOTOBOOTH and enjoy the free downloads. They are perfect for facebook, 4×6 prints or sometimes simple blackmail ;)
April 2013 \\ Austin, Texas \\ Last weekend I had the pleasure of being IN (just a small roll…. BEST MAN!) my friend Adam’s wedding as he married his love, Christine! It was fun to set down my cameras and be involved in other ways but there were times when I just couldn’t help myself… let’s face it, I am a photographer. So here are a few iPhone shots from the wedding, I have a handful of Hasselblad ones being processed as we speak… be sure those will hit the blog as soon as possible too :)
As I was responsible for a toast at Adam and Christine’s reception I took a lot of time to think about these two. I prepared about 3-4 pages of notes and used maybe a sixth of the words I had come up with, major props to all of you best men and maid’s of honor out there… you make it look easy from where I usually sit behind a camera. The one thing that I said that I am proud to echo here on my blog is that I am proud to be their friend and I am blessed and encouraged by their deep, committed, loyal, and beautiful love. I love you guys. Congratulations yet again!

SO much great food… I’m still full…. and I still want more!
They danced to Édith Piaf. It was beautiful. Jennifer cried.
We organized the PHOTOBOOTH for this wedding too! That post is on it’s way!!
iPhone 5 << sorry about the grain and noise \\ Pic Tap Go << fantastic editing app \\ Austin, Tx << awesome place, I’d love to shoot a wedding there \\ Best Man << important to remember
Admit it. You want to go crazy and wave your hands like you just don’t care in front of a camera with silly props. (maybe with a friend, or a complete stranger… we don’t judge) My name is Alex, and as a part of the Derk’s Works team, I am the main PHOTOBOOTH photographer. The PHOTOBOOTH is insanely fun, and a great way to turn a party, into a “PAR-TAY!”
So grab a friend, a crazy prop, perhaps a drink (or two…), and with a little coaching we’ll make some hilarious, awesome pictures together!
The PHOTOBOOTH is a great way to have fun with friends and make lasting memories of a special time. PHOTOBOOTH brings out the zany side in everyone… even Grampa and your insane Uncle Chuck. (You know, Uncle Chuck… the one who still wears the 80’s sweaters and still uses the VCR to record his TV shows.)
Here are a couple of my favorites from 2012. There are plenty more over HERE!
Want to learn more and have Derk’s Works shoot a PHOTOBOOTH for you??? “YES of course! What kind of question is that!?!?” Drop us a line at shootme@derksworks.com or check out our main webpage at www.derksworks.com
March 2013 – Hocking Hills, Ohio \\ My friend Adam is getting married in less than a month and I am so happy and excited for him! To celebrate, we left civilization and did manly things. It was a wonderful weekend. Congratulations Adam! VERY much looking forward to your amazing wedding next month!
Love these pictures – makes me want to go hiking again, it’s been too long. :) Like the one with all the cliffs and trees with one wee little guy in a blue shirt in the bottom corner – really gives some perspective.
Regarles of your goal or passion, I truly believe that the most beautiful and fulfilling pursuits, as my friend Natalie said, “should be broad enough to also provide for others.” Last month I had the privilege to spend a Friday evening with the amazingly passionate and kind folks at Our Father’s Project, who’s purpose does just that. Brian, who leads the project, has a passion for encouraging, supporting, and serving low-income children, teens, young adults, and families in the Columbus area. The effort that they are pouring themselves into takes time and love, which they give in ample supply. It was my joy to take part in one evening with these guys and will be my even greater joy to do so again in the future.
these are terrific!
