Hard to believe it is already the first Friday in April! As you enjoy the spring weather, here are more beautiful bouquets to take in as you plan your own wedding or even look to make beautiful floral arrangements for Easter weekend!

She is the inspiration for our brand’s beauty and grace, as well as the biggest proponent of perpetual innovation. Jennifer not only brings a keen feminine perspective to the table but also ten years of corporate career built on innovation and targeted efficiency. When you pair those two things with the depth of care and compassion that she has as an awesome mom of three amazing little children, you’ll find that she can cut through obstacles like a surgeon while preserving the most precious sentimentality of any task. She is equal to any challenge no matter how in-depth, artistic, or personal.
I was born with an oddly shaped head so sometimes it’s hard to find a hat that fits perfectly but, you just keep trying, right? Hands down, there is no role on earth that gives me a greater joy, than being a wife and mother. Though at times the role of mommy is long, exhausting and even heartbreaking, the motivation and love that fuels each day is the deepest I have ever experienced. As a wife to, and business partner with, Benjamin, our marriage and partnership intersects at every level of our life and I wouldn’t want it any other way. He knows my weaknesses and strengths and encourages me in both, in the most loving way. He believes in me and inspires me to grow daily in this role to be the best for him, for us, for our family and for you.
Art is hard work, it is a skill that if nurtured, appreciated, and pushed it brings such incredible joy and a unique voice and gift to those who experience it. Business is an art. Sales is an art. Communication is an art. It all takes creativity, originality, authenticity, experience and vision to excel. I am more grateful now than ever for the art lessons, museum tours, hours of piano practice, art exposure and the overall fearless creativity and drive for excellence my parents instilled in me. With this in mind I desire to approach each client interaction, each business task with this type of creative and efficient mindset.
Seeing as 98% of my instagram feed is filled with phone snapshots of the day to day life with our babes and business, I love to capture the emotions of any given moment. Whether it is the pure joy of finding a worm in the dirt, the giggles of playing chase, the chaos of trying to take a family selfie. I choose to experience the moment along with those I photograph, rather than pause the moment to create an image. Have no fear, my feed still full of its fair share of food, flowers and weddings.
It may sound repetitive and hard to believe seeing as we spend all day, everyday, together. But the simple (and somewhat rare) Sunday off, going to church as a family, sharing lunch together and family time at the park, feeding ducks, walking or hiking together, these moments refuel me to no end. Pair that with a date night with Benjamin, enjoying a glass of wine or cocktail together or dinner at Third and Hollywood with lingering and long conversations about anything and everything, or time spent with our families and friends or a good barre workout, these are the things that keep me going.
My 18 year old self would confidently say that mastering a technical piece is hands down more difficult. But as the years have gone by and life and work have evolved, managing a business, client relationships, family needs and desires and personal time is by far the greater challenge. The beauty of hours of piano practice is the singular focus. The ability to spend hours meticulously centered on the minor (and major) details of one unique project until its just right, and personally complete. Managing a full time business and full time family possess a different beauty. The beauty and depth of people, physical needs, limited resources, creative problem solving, the success of those around you and not just yourself. It may be the most challenging thing I’ve been a part of to date. And someday soon I will try and spend a few hours perfecting, yet again an old classical piano concerto too.
This is a silly question, a mother should not be asked to name a favorite.
Well thank you, when its not 92% humidity here in Ohio, I keep it simple. A $15 target curling iron, drug store dry shampoo and the occasional messy mom bun.
To me, it is the images that capture and showcase love, a love that is patient, kind, forgiving, generous, strong, humorous, genuine, eternal. A love that transcends time and location, and reveals the heart of person, relationship, or moment. Some of my personal favorite images include, the first time we held our babies in our arms after hours of labor, riding on my dad’s shoulders as a little girl, laughing with my mom and sisters as we try for the hundredth time to take a selfie after a girls day or Benjamin washing my feet on our wedding day as an act of Christ like love and leadership. These are the moments we cherish and the images I strive to create.
My mom loves watercolor so naturally growing up we learned a lot of O’Keefe and her watercolor work. I was recently flipping through an O’Keefe art book and found this set of two very uncharacteristic, simplistic, black and white line drawings. I was, and still am fascinated by them. Something so simple, yet what inspires each stroke? Why create and save these pieces in her complete body of work? What would or should my line drawing look like and why? So I’m thinking about this and hoping to create a set of pieces for our living room to mirror Benjamin’s photography soon! Who knew simple lines could be so intimidating, so meaningful?
If I have a half hour or so to sit and escape, fold laundry (and I don’t fall asleep) or looking to put a show on while prepping dinner, team BRAVO all the way. I’m a loyal NYC housewives fan and the occasional WWHL, though based off some of the IG stories and commentaries I have seen, I may be really missing out on some pretty ridiculous bachelor comedy.
Hard to believe it is already the first Friday in April! As you enjoy the spring weather, here are more beautiful bouquets to take in as you plan your own wedding or even look to make beautiful floral arrangements for Easter weekend!

This week spring has arrived (hopefully permanently) in Ohio! The snow has melted and we enjoyed temps in 50s, sun filled afternoons, walks and well it has me thinking about spring blooms! As most may know, I LOVE fresh flowers. From simple Trader Joe’s arrangements on my kitchen window to beautiful bridal arrangements and more. (Check out my instagram feed if you don’t believe me) Flowers make me happy, the expression of beauty and creativity in texture, color, style and scent! So I thought it would be fun to have a monthly Floral Friday Feature, where I can share some of our favorite wedding bouquets, beautiful floral designs, local florists and creative ways to enjoy flowers in your every day life or special event. Enjoy, and Happy Spring!

As many of you know, Benjamin and I moved to Bexley this summer, purchasing our first home! One of the first home projects we took on was a room we knew we would spend hours and hours in together and with friends & family. A room I had dreamt of and love to spend time in relaxing and creating, the KITCHEN! With the kitchen renovations complete and a free weekend (if you only knew how rare this was) we invited our dear friends Tim and Simi over for dinner! But before I share the delicious details of our dinner I thought I would share some of the details of our our new kitchen!

We had the privilege to work with wonderful contractors who did quality and timely work! Designing and choosing the details each step of the way was mostly exciting only a few times overwhelming. I am so thankful for an amazing husband and friends who helped along the way, also a special shout out to pinterest!

Now back to dinner with friends! What better way to enjoy having friends over then to cook together! Simi is not only a dear friend and an amazing Barre instructor (at the best barre studio in the country) but she is an extremely knowledgeable and talented health coach who has had a profound impact on my life and health! Her blog, the micro harvest, if filled with amazing recipes and tips on whole, healthy and pleasurable living, you should definitely check it out! So naturally, cooking together seemed like the best idea!
(@derksworksdog, wasn’t very helpful but was very adorable)
The menu was simple but oh so good! Roasted chicken (marinated over night with fresh lemon, olive oil, garlic, S&P and fresh thyme) and a seasonal salad of roasted butternut squash, toasted pecans, dried cranberries and a homemade dressing of clementine, olive oil, ACV and seasoning.
While making dinner we all hung out in the kitchen and snacked on cheese, nuts, fruit and crackers. Tim, Benjamin and their basil hayden, made great kitchen and conversation companions!
We have been so blessed by Tim and Simi, amazing individuals who love each other passionately, give generously and are just a ton of fun to spend time with. Whether discussing the details and challenges of going out on your own and owning & growing your business, to family life, TV shows and celebrity crushes, we thoroughly enjoy and appreciate these guys!

For dessert we made a vegan decadent chocolate, coconut tart! It was AMAZING and the perfect treat to enjoy while sharing Paris pictures and chatting it up over tea and whiskey! The recipe for this easy and pleasing dessert can be found here!

The Photo Narrative is a project near and dear to our hearts. Photo Narrative is a series of images and interviews that share a story about people who work on something inspired from their heart and do so with passion and joy! Today we have the privilege to introduce you to some amazing, strong, beautiful women and a studio that unites them.
Kristina (co-owner of Studio 543 Yoga Inferno, you definitely need to check them out), Maria (all around awesome friend, free spirit, crazy talented and creative individual and yoga instructor) and Jackie (dear friend, kind heart and yoga enthusiast) joined us for a shoot to tell their story as well as model some wonderful yoga equipment from Zen Active (be sure to check their products out as well).

Meet Kristina, she is the biggest neat freak you’ve ever seen. Also, Kristina and her sister Natasha are the heart and soul of Studio 543 Yoga Inferno. It has been our pleasure to get to know Kristina and share a little of her amazing spirit and fervor with you.
Q: Who are you? (Not just your name, rather, how would your soul describe you?)
A: My name is Kristina. My soul would describe me as someone that would go to the end of the earth for answers. I am very much a question asker.
Q: What do you do?
A: I just opened a hot yoga studio with my sister Natasha (aka Sissy)
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: I asked myself if there was one thing I could do every day for the rest of my life, what would it be…and this was my answer!
Q: What is your favorite band?
A: There are so many, but, I love Florence and the Machine.
Q: What are you reading right now?
A: Are you there, Vodka? It’s me Chelsea. She is hysterical.
Q: What’s the next movie you really want to see?
A: I haven’t had time to watch much TV. Lately, so I don’t even know what is out, but my husband always finds something interesting for us on Netflix.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: My husband. He has a kind heart; I don’t think he has a bad bone in his body. My parents. They are honestly the hardest working people I have ever met in my life, I would be lost without them and my sister, she has 4 kids, I don’t know how she keeps it together!
Q: How can people follow you pursuing your passion?
A: On Facebook.com/studio543 and Instagram @Studio543yogainferno
Q: How can people engage or participate in this passion?
A: They can come in for classes! Check out our schedule on our website Studio543yoga.com
Q: If you had something you could ask for (doesn’t matter how crazy), what would it be?
A: I love shoes so I would go crazy and have a house filled with shoes…expensive shoes! I would also travel the world.
Q: What is something super-awesome that you can do that not too many people know about?
A: I can curl my eyelashes without looking in the mirror. I do them both at the same time. When my nieces watch me do it they tell me I look crazy!
Q: What’s next for Studio 543 and what is your biggest dream for 2014?
A: We hope that Studio 543 continues to grow, we have had a great first month and we hope to continue to share our passion with the community! We love what we do and we hope that reaches as many people as possible.
Q: Behind any high expectation for success is an equal fear of failure. Courage is refusing to let the fear stop you. What inspires your brightest courage?
A: Not letting fear get in the way of your dreams. You have to follow your heart. If you are passionate about something you have to go for it no matter what, everything else will fall into place!

Meet Maria, she seriously has the most amazing curly hair you’ve ever seen. (I am constantly jealous of her locks) Maria is also an amazing instructor at Studio 543. It has been our pleasure to get to know her as a successful woman and dear friend, and to share her beautiful/amazing spirit and fervor with you.
Q: Who are you? (Not just your name, rather, how would your soul describe you?)
A: All in all, I’m just trying to have a good time.
Q: What do you do?
A: I’m a Copy Director for an advertising agency and a registered yoga instructor.
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: I’m doing this because I love new experiences and it pushes me out of my comfort zone.
Q: What is your favorite band?
A: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Q: What are you reading right now?
A: Creativity Inc. by Ed Catmull
Q: What’s the next movie you really want to see?
A: Is it bad that I have no idea? I don’t have a TV so I don’t really ever know what’s going on.
Q: Who inspires you?
A: people who are free, people who can forgive, people who can cook really well without recipes
Q: How can people follow you pursuing your passion?
A: well that’s a fun question! By coming to my class, of course. You can also literally follow me @mariaiannarino and you’ll get a good idea of what I’m about.
Q: How can people engage or participate in this passion.
A: By rolling out the mat—we’re all connected and every time we practice, together or apart, we are one. It helps is remember that “we” is better that “I” and that there is nothing else but love.
Q: If you had something you could ask for (doesn’t matter how crazy), what would it be?
A: A transportation device that allowed me to travel anywhere in a second. Or a hair de-frizzer. Or a pint of mint chocolate chip ice cream
Q: What is something super-awesome that you can do that not too many people know about?
A: I’m a really good kisser, but I’m a prude so no one knows.
Q: What’s next for you and what is your biggest dream for 2014?
A: you know, I’ve already accomplished most of my dreams for this year. I wanted the last year of my twenties to be filled with moving forward. So I got my yoga teacher training, went to Jamaica, got promoted, and paid off my car. I have an awesome job at an ad agency and as a yoga teacher. the only thing left is finding love. So I guess it’s that. My biggest dream is to be in love.
Q: Behind any high expectation for success is an equal fear of failure. Courage is refusing to let the fear stop you. What inspires your brightest courage?
A: Knowing that the one who has always been, who has seen much worse that this, is still here.
Meet Jackie (@jacalish). She is a designer, an observer and one of the kindest souls you will ever meet! I am proud to call her my friend.

Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! We think you are awesome in every way and love sharing your brilliance with others.

Every one of these photos is so stunning. You have such a gift for going way beyond just “snapping” an image — you really capture your subjects’ (these ridiculously adorable children this time!) spirit in your photos! Positively gushing! Love love love.
We are blessed by so many amazing friends! Each of these families are beautiful, loving and so much fun to know! We hope you enjoy their images and get to know some very special people. Thank you for allowing us to capture your story!
We also can’t wait to shoot our next AWESOME mini session this Sunday. We are booked for this shoot but please look for more mini sessions in the future!

Hiring a photographer not only affects how you remember certain moments throughout your life but it also represents you to the rest of the world. As such, we think you deserve to hire an artist who is dedicated to styling photographs with joy, laughter, and the essence of who you are as an amazing individual. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you, your friends or family in the future.
UGH I want to relieve the whole night over again RIGHT NOW!!! Such a wonderful evening with wonderful people (you two!). Thank you for hosting us! Still fantasizing about that dessert and your Paris photos :) XO!
